From 13 to 15 November 2008 in Brussels, the capital of the European Union, the 57th new technologies and research trade fair Brussels Innova 2008 took place. In the Eureka! innovations competition held among exhibitors the Pomeranian Region was represented by the IVONA Text-To-Speech - a product of IVO Software. IVONA aroused a great deal of interest among visitors and exhibitors, and also attracted the recognition of the jury, which awarded IVONA the bronze medal.

“At the trade fair we presented the innovations which are about to be added to IVONA. We’re pleased that they were so highly regarded among all the other new inventions being introduced into the equipment we use every day” - said Lukasz Osowski, Managing Director of IVO Software.

IVONA already speaks three languages: Polish, English and Romanian. IVONA’s voices - Ewa, Jacek, Jennifer, Eric and Carmen - are being ever more widely used, revolutionising the speech synthesis market on account of its being almost impossible to distinguish from a real, human voice.

During the exhibition over 500 innovations from 30 countries were presented. IVONA was there under the auspices of the Marshall’s Office of the Pomorskie Region, the European Union Pomorskie Society and also the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia.
